ARCIA NSW Dinner Went off with a 'Bang'
Enjoying a three-course meal and free-flowing drinks right on Darling Harbour is a dream for many celebrating Valentine’s Day. So nothing could be better than spending the evening with fellow radio professionals at the annual NSW regional dinner, held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The night was buzzing, with many colleagues catching up and introducing new contacts and friends. The dining room was filled with passionate and enthusiastic industry members, excited for what 2013 is set to bring.
Spurious Challenge!
On Friday, 15 February 2013 ARCIA took part in the annual Spurious Challenge Regatta hosted by RF Industries in Sydney to help raise money for the Salvation Army. Twelve yachts were involved in the race which started at Middle Harbour and involved sailing past iconic landmarks including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Shark Island. GME was the winner of the race with Airwave Solutions coming in second place. The ARCIA yacht came in third last, but all those that participated said they enjoyed the extra time out on the water.

Here is what one attendee said about the most recent Industry Dinner and Networking Event in NSW:
"Just a quick note to say thanks very much for the information I garnered and the colleagues I met at the ARCIA dinner in Sydney last week. I must say, while driving up from Melbourne I had reservations about whether the whole thing might not be relevant to our market here, "down south" but it was brilliant - informative, entertaining, and most importantly relevant with plenty of up to date information to take away and digest". James Kelly, The JRD Group.

Spectrum and Technical Update
Over the past few weeks ARCIA's Spectrum & Technical sub-Committee have been working on the ACMA Discussion Paper on the 803-960 MHz band. This area of the spectrum contains the trunked radio segment as well as fixed links, both of which are critical areas of spectrum for ARCIA members. Although the submission is now close to complete, all ARCIA members should be aware of this important review of the spectrum and take note of any future requirements for information or support.
ARCIA's response to the ACMA Discussion paper, 'The 803-960 MHz band - exploring options for the future change' can be downloaded and will be available from the ARCIA site in the next few days.
ARCIA are working on your behalf to support and maintain our industry requirements.
