Interpretation: revealing the stories of your collections

Public Record Office Victoria event at Lerderderg Library, Bacchus Marsh

Enhance your visitors' experience through the meaningful and provocative interpretation of your collection and you will connect them to your regions's heritage forever!

This training workshop is ideal for PODs as it is designed to improve participants' skills in interpretation and offers tips and ideas to engage visitors in museum objects. Topics include: principles of heritage interpretation, making connections with audiences and use of media.

Participants will also have the opportunity to contribute ideas and knowledge of their regions and collections to the development of 'What's in a Name' , a new Public Record Office Victoria touring exhibition. 'What's in a Name' aims to explore how land has been lost, lived in, named, brought, sold and altered in Victoria and how the naming of places contributes to the story of our areas and our relationship to the land.
