Keynsham LSC Open Competition - 20 Apr 2013
Keynsham Lifesaving Club are holding their first ever open lifesaving competition and they want YOU to take part! This event makes an ideal introduction to competitive lifesaving because it’s specifically aimed at lifesavers without little or no prior experience of competitions.
Teams of two will compete in a Land-Based Initiative Test, Aquatic Initiative Test, Line Throw, Obstacle Swim, Swim and Tow, and 50m Freestyle Relay (time permitting). The competition is open to lifesavers in school years 6-13. There are no prerequisite awards required and they'll even match you with a partner if you don't have anyone to compete with!
Entry costs just £10 and closes on 13th April. West region clubs who enter 8 or more competitors qualify for free transport to the event! See www.klsc.co.uk/competition for full details.
Survive and Save Stillwater Camp, 14-16 June
RLSS UK is running a Survive and Save Stillwater Camp at Cranage Hall in Cheshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for young lifesavers (aged 14-18 years) to achieve an RLSS UK Survive & Save Bronze Stillwater award whilst meeting other young lifesavers from across the UK. If there’s sufficient demand from West Region Lifesavers we’ll take a minibus from Bristol. The camp costs just £50 (includes campsite, lifesaving training, games, a gala BBQ on the Saturday evening, and a campfire). See http://rlsswest.org.uk/event/stillwater-camp/ for full details.
