On March 20, 2013, from 1:00 – 2:30 pm, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Family Assistance will be hosting a webinar on leveraging TANF funds and strategic partnerships to improve housing stability and economic outcomes for low-income families. The webinar will focus on leveraging TANF and MOE funds and strategic partnerships into approaches to reduce homelessness among TANF eligible individuals and participants.

This webinar will provide an overview of federal regulations relating to the use of TANF and MOE funds, highlight State and local program models, outline national recommendations, and make available resources for technical assistance that may be integrated into State and local homelessness prevention activities targeted to low-income families. At the end of this webinar, participants will be familiar with the strategies to develop and improve partnerships with TANF and housing stability stakeholders, and to strengthen workforce development and improve economic outcomes for low-income individuals and TANF participants experiencing or at-risk of homelessness.

The webinar, Leveraging TANF Funds and Strategic Partnerships to Improve Housing Stability and Economic Outcomes for Low-Income Families is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, 2013, 1:00 – 2:30 pm EDT.

The webinar will:

1. Provide examples of allowable uses of TANF funds for homeless stability and employment services for individuals at-risk of or experiencing homelessness.
2. Provide an overview of promising program models for individuals at-risk of or experiencing homelessness.
3. Discuss strategies for choosing and implementing various program models and partnerships.
4. Encourage integration of workforce development and homelessness prevention efforts.
