Autumn is here and the mornings are starting to feel a little cooler. There’s a variety of things happening in our area to mention in this newsletter

Mother Hubbard’s Creative Co-op is running on Fridays, 9.30am -1.30pm at the Shed (behind the fish’n’chip shop) in Redcliffs. Bring your own projects or just bring your scissors! Let's get together for a cuppa and a yarn. Please spread the word… anyone and everyone welcome.

Sumner Tea & Talk is well established at the old Sumner School hall, in the kitchen, on Wiggins Street, running on Mondays, 10.30 – 11.30 am. If you know an elderly person who would enjoy some great company, please do bring them along or let them know it is happening. It’s very laidback and enjoyable.

Computing @ Redcliffs classes are beginning again. To find out more, contact our office and we’ll pass your details on to Lydia, our tutor. The classes are happening on Saturday mornings in the Redcliffs Community Shed as requested.

OK Corral Skate Park is open Monday to Friday, 3 – 4.30 pm and Sunday and Saturday, 2.30 – 4.30 pm at the Redcliffs New World site for primary school children to use. This is a spin-off of the Redcliffs Community Shed. All sessions have adult supervision. The 3 March community barbecue there was fantastic. All the credit must go to Reg and Rena, Dave and Peter and the other volunteers for the development of this project.

Redcliffs Community Shed is being readied for opening. The team of volunteers have continued their work on the building lately and the arts and crafts area is now being used for various groups.

Rockers of Ages Choir has returned to the Redcliffs Union Church on Augusta Street. Nikki Berry and Gary Easterbrook are the directors of this all-comers choir through The Muse Community Music Trust. The choir meets on Wednesdays of term time, 10.30 am – 12.30 pm, and everyone is welcome to join in.
Are you interested in joining the Age Concern Accredited Visitor programme? If so, let me know. Once we have enough interest, Age Concern staff will come out to hold an orientation session. One hour per week minimum – you could make a big difference in the life of an elderly person. People who have small children are welcome to be involved – the person being visiting needs to be willing to have children visit.

Community News
Redcliffs Public Library is holding its Monster Book Sale on 23 – 24 March at the Redcliffs Tennis Club, 75 Main Road. All proceeds to go to the rebuild fund. Come along and support the only library open east of the Ferrymead Bridge.
