Imagine a business dinner in Brazil. The conversation moves to football, and not the kind with helmets and first downs. Can you follow? Do you understand the importance of soccer to the identities and lives of your hosts and potential business partners?
On March 13 we will kick off a series of events to help Atlanta businesspeople understand the game that has captured the hearts of the world. The 2014 World Cup and the importance of cultural understanding in Brazilian business made this football-crazed country the perfect place to start.
Speakers to include:
Ambassador Hermano Ribeiro
Brazilian Consul General to the Southeast
World Cup and Worldviews
Ambassador Ribeiro began playing football on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro as a child, where he first aspired to become a professional player. He later joined the team at the Rio de Janeiro State University. Serving in Brazil's foreign service, he played on the embassy teams in Washington, Brasilia, Tokyo and Montevideo, Uruguay.
