Quote of the week:

“Sometimes in life we take a leap of faith. Remember, the leap is not about getting from one side to the other. It's simply about taking the leap... and trusting the air, the universal breath will support your wings so that you may soar.” ― Kristi Bowman

KIMBERLY DEAN  ... From: Toronto Lives: Vancouver Work: Painter & Digital Media Artist

Q: What inspires you to want to jump for joy?
A: Jumping is a great way to reunite with your inner child and my inner child is who helps me create my best work.

Q.What was your experience like doing the jumping photos?
A: I was elated after the first few jumps! We were having so much fun that it was easy to spread the joy to anyone who walked by asking us what we were doing. It's always my goal to be part of projects with positive objectives.

Q: What inspires you in life?
A: I am inspired most by nature and by others who look beyond emerging challenges and embrace their ability to dream their life into being.

Q: What is your greatest passion in life?
A: My greatest passion in life is to create art from a place of joy while understanding that positive intention is a powerful tool. I believe if I paint from an authentic place, it will feel as good to me to paint it as it does for another person to look upon it.

Q: What is your driving force in life?
A: I am driven to share the message that you can find success and achieve abundance from doing what you love to do. Every single day offers a great roster of opportunities to choose from. There is power in believing that you can choose our own life standard.

Q: What is your philosophy in life?
A: Life is a manifested experience and will rise (or fall) to meet your expectations every time. Hold your expectations high, value your imagination and radiate from a place of grace and integrity.

Q: If you could do anything in the world, what would it be?
A: I want to forever make beautiful things that make people feel good when they look at them or are in the presence of them. I am making it happen!

Q: What work/art/projects are you working on?
A: I am currently working on a children's book with my sister who is a Naturopathic Doctor. This book will be part of a series which promotes the education of healthy, holistic eating for a balanced life (based on eating by the colours of the rainbow.) Beyond illustration, I work as a painter and graphic artist for branding and sketchbook projects.
ww.templedmind.com is where I post my graphic art and you can dive into my sketchbook at www.draw.templedmind.com.

Q: Mini bio, interesting facts about you or something special you want to share.
A: Kimberly Dean is a painter and digital media artist. By applying abstraction, Dean relays a visual vocabulary that addresses different social structures and satires. Her work represents an experiential universe that emerges through the use of positive intention and supports an idealistic view of the power of community. Her paintings often showcase an interpretation of basic living elements: energy (heat, light, water) and exotic form (crystal). By merging several seemingly incompatible worlds, she focuses on the idea of building and sharing public artistic spaces for the growth of co-creative communities. Interpretation of the aesthetic of her work is multifaceted and encouraged.

All photos of Kimberly were taken in North Vancouver, BC Canada. Jumping below with Julian Guderley. Like Jump for Joy! Featuring Kimberly Daen on Facebook
