Following the Canberra Cycling Club AGM last month there has been a few changes to the Club Committee. After 6 years of dedicated service Jason Parkes has stepped down as President with Stuart Jones taking over this role. Great to see a couple of new members not only joining the committee but taking on important roles with Nathan Edwardson the Club Secretary and Liz Fitch filling the previously vacant position of Women's Development Officer.
A full list of the 2013 Club Committee can be found on the club website.

Greetings all, my name is Liz Fitch and I’m the new Women’s Coordinator for the Canberra Cycling Club. I would like to introduce myself to all female members of the club and welcome you to contact me with queries any time at liz_j_fitch@hotmail.com.
I would also like to invite you to an open invitation breakfast on Thursday the 18th of April between 7.00am and 8.30am at Delissio Braddon – a perfect opportunity for female members to socialize and for me to hear from ladies who have any ideas, suggestions, concerns or feedback for women’s cycling in the club. Anyone who would like to join me for breakfast is encouraged to let me know at liz_j_fitch@hotmail.com so I can make a reservation - or else feel free to swing by for a pre-work coffee!

Five Peaks Challenge - 21st April
Now in its 8th year, this popular event is back for 2013. This year the event will include the well known Cotter – Uriarra loop which takes in Mount McDonald and Canberra’s own “Three Sisters” for those who want to take on the Centenary Seven Challenge.
To commemorate Canberra’s Centenary and the 10th Anniversary of the Canberra Bush Fires, this year's event will finish at the Mount Stromlo Observatory. The road up to the Observatory will be closed to traffic and an Event Village with drinks, food and entertainment will be set up where participants can explore the nationally significant Canberra landmark and gain an appreciation of the sites history.
As always, participants can choose the climbs they take on and the distances they cover. The distances for this year range from 44km through to 105km.
