To Waste or Not to Waste
Very few people wake up in the morning and say, “I’m going to waste some water.” Most water wasters simply don’t know they’re wasting water and why using it wisely is so important for Frisco and our North Texas region.

What is water waste? The City of Frisco lists a number of activities that are considered water waste at all times, regardless of time of year or current drought restrictions.

By reporting water waste observations, you are actually helping the city educate your neighbors and the community about what is and isn’t allowed in a friendly, non-threatening way.

Within a few days, city staff will contact the property by phone or leave a courtesy door hanger. Most people cheerfully correct the issue and the process ends there. Some will even schedule free Sprinkler System Check-Up for help with setting their lawn’s sprinkler controller to water adequately and follow the city’s watering rules.

A first-time water waste violation can result in a $25 fee added to the next water bill, however, this can be waived after completing a free sprinkler check-up.

With Stage 2 Restrictions in effect, everyone is asked to do their part and use water wisely. If you have any questions about Stage 2 or, if you receive a watering violation, call the City of Frisco Public Works Department at 972-292-5800 or send an email to publicworks@friscotexas.gov.

The recommendation for Monday (4/8) - Sunday (4/14) is 0 inches.
We received over half an inch of rain this week! Keep your sprinkler systems turned to the “OFF” position since your lawn doesn’t need the extra water.

The average daily water usage per person (GPCD) in Frisco this past week was 141 GPCD, the previous week was 153.  GPCD is defined as the total number of gallons used by the city divided by the population.
