“It’s Alive” celebrates kinetic and interactive art by selected Bay Area artists, showcasing their inventive visions and many of the skills taught at The Crucible. From the small and subtle to the enormous and wacky, these amazing works of art are engineered to move and interact with the observer.
Nemo Gould served as guest juror for this very special exhibition, and will debut his most recent creation, Po’bot, at this show. Gould's work has been featured frequently in national media and is shown in galleries and museums throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Artists will be on hand at the opening reception to share insights about creating works of art that swing, sway, blink, breathe, ring, react, paint, talk back and seemingly have a life of their own. These pieces are designed to be touched or interacted with by the observer, and will bring out the child in everyone. Come play!
