What's New

Apply to be an IBMP mentor
Together with Habran & Jensen Consulting we have developed the “International Business Mentoring Programme, IBMP” where employees from Danish companies will get the opportunity to be trained as mentors from an international perspective. This programme is focused only on business relations. It is a professional programme matching qualified international mentees wishing to pursue a new career in Denmark with mentors who have a curiosity and wish to develop mentor skills and inter-relational know how. Additionally, it is a great opportunity for the mentors to get access to insight knowledge and expertise from similar businesses from the international arena.

"I joined the IBMP program as a mentor for an international mentee, as I find that a mentor/mentee relationship is an opportunity to learn, not just for the mentee, but for mutual benefit. For me it is not just about giving, but also receiving. For every mentee I learn more and more. The international aspect of this particular program also adds on my own personal competencies. I have lived abroad and faced some of the challenges it brings, being a foreigner, which is why it gives me great personal satisfaction to support another person pursuing her (his) career in Denmark."
IBMP Mentor: Charlotte Bryldt Theisen
Lead employer branding specialist, DONG Energy

“The IBMP programme is fantastic. It is incredibly useful when moving to a new country to have guidance about the working culture.  It has been good to meet other mentees from different countries and share experiences.  Having a mentor is a great help for settling into Denmark and I am so glad to have been matched with Birgit Tommerup from Carlsberg who is my mentor.   Birgit is inspirational and has given me some terrific guidance.  She has also given me the confidence that I need to address challenges to find a meaningful role in Denmark .I am very glad that as a trailing spouse I have also been give the help and support from Spousecare.”
IBMP Mentee: Emma Gane, HR Professional from UK

First IBMP Class at kick-off in March 2013.

A Spousecare success story
“The individual support and career counselling from Spousecare helped me pursue my new career in Denmark”
Pushpita Sengupta, Support Manager at Trustpilot

Pushpita arrived in Denmark during 2011 with her husband who had received a job offer in Copenhagen. Pushpita, holding an education within Business Administration and IT-support was hoping to pursue her own career but found the Danish job market difficult. Through her husband’s company she was offered individual spouse support and career counselling via Spousecare. For the career counselling, Pushpita engaged with Spousecare consultant Sys Vecht who introduced Pushpita to the company Trustpilot, a successful company with branches all over the world. www.trustpilot.com.

Pushpita started in a position as Technical Support Agent and she has recently been promoted as Support Manager in a permanent position. HR Business Partner, Sabina Notkin from Trustpilot says: “Via Spousecare we have been introduced to Pushpita, that we have now promoted as our Support Manager. In our company we really value competencies from abroad. Our culture is international with over 25 different nationalities in our Copenhagen office. This is very unique for a Danish company our size”.  Pushpita Sengupta ”…. Spousecare guided and coached me to pursue a career in Denmark. In one sentence I can say, Spousecare acted as a bridge between me and Trustpilot. And I really value that...”

The purpose of the IBMP Mentoring Programme is to retain international talent in Denmark and to train Danish mentors from an international perspective. This will be done by providing a platform where mentors from companies and organisations in Denmark have the opportunity to be matched with a mentee with an international background.

All participants will be invited to the mentor master classes and receive our guide for mentors and mentees including tools, especially targeted cross-cultural mentoring relationships.

The IBMP Mentoring Programme is sponsored by the European Social Funds and Vækstforum Hovedstaden and part of the Copenhagen Talent Bridge.

Sign up at www.ibmp.dk or send a mail to info@spousecare.dk if you wish to request our IBMP brochure.
