Dear Moms and Dads
Special thanks to all our class reps and the teachers for organising the class parties held this weekend. They were most successful and loads of fun for everyone.
This is the last week of the first term. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our parents and their children a wonderful Easter. May you enjoy this time together as a family and travel safely if you are going away. We return to school for the second term on Monday 8th April.
Holiday care will be available for those who need it. Ingrid and her team will be organising some lovely fun activities for your children to enjoy. Please take note of the daily events and activities.
TUES 2nd - Bunny Masks
WED 3rd- Easter Cards
THURS 4th- Pasta necklaces
FRI 5th- Easter Egg hunt
The children may bring their bikes or  trikes each day to enjoy at school. Please no scate-boards.

BUILDING WORK

Building work will continue through into the Angelfish and Penguin Classes this week. The remaining fire walls need to be completed there. Fire exit doors will be hung between all classrooms on completion of the fire walls.
We thank everyone for their patience during this rather noisy time. It should soon be over and we will be 100% fire compliant!

EASTER EGG DRIVE

Thank you for your donations of Easter eggs for Rainbow Educare in Masi. Cornelia and the children were thrilled with all the eggs.
It was wonderful to see Cornelia using many of the art ideas that she had seen on her last visit to our school, with her children. We will continue to invite Cornelia and her children and teachers to our school next term.

 WORLD EPILEPSY DAY

We will be celebrating World Epilepsy Day on Wed 27th March.
We encourage you and your children to wear purple and buy a sticker costing only R5.
A worthy cause!!! Funds raised will be for Epilepsy research.

OH MY GOLLY GOSH IS THAT NOT FUN OR WHAT!!!!
The Rainbow children had some fun with chocolate pudding finger paint. It's all about experiences- that's the way young children learn!

Talking about experiences! Here the Grade R children are playing dress up in the house corner. They develop social skills, interact with each other and learn to work together. How wonderful that their school provides for all their needs. Take a look at the picture below, their learning extends out into the garden as well.
Boys need to be allowed these 'mommy' experience too, it's called 'fathering.'
We were very sad to say good-bye to Clayton, Eliza, and Riley Gelderbloem last week. They returned to England. The children of Fish Hoek Pre-Primary , but particularly the Shark class learnt so much from this wonderful family. Clayton who was in the Shark class is Autistic and taught us so much. When asked what they remember about Clayton the Shark class said:" He's good at shouting and screaming. He's good at computers. He has curly hair. He's loves 'Lays chips'. He talks with sounds!" Now isn't that just wonderful! How privileged the children are to experience differences in people and learn how to understand those differences. We miss you Clayton, Eliza, Riley and Katrina and wish you well.

We are just hanging out together!!!
Have you ever tried to do this? It's not as easy as it looks! Here some Grade R girls are developing their balancing skills, as well as motor planning skills and learning to work together. Well done!
Our garden is about learning through play. The best way for these young minds to learn and develop. Always start with the concrete.
Our 2012 Grade R children and their parents came back to visit us. It was fabulous to see them again and hear how 'Big School' is going!
