Eggs as Symbols

Have you ever wondered why some eggs are white while others are brown? What about green eggs, where do they come from? See Linda at Great Valley Poultry and she can give you some eggstra information about eggs and poultry.

While on the subject of eggs, why are eggs are such a prevalent part of Easter and Passover celebrations?
Why is there a charred egg on the Passover seder plate and what does it mean? Why does the Easter Bunny deliver eggs - rabbits don't even eat eggs, they are vegans.

In many cultures and religions, the egg symbolizes birth, renewal and rebirth; the cycle of life. To many Christians, Easter eggs are symbols of the Risen Christ. As a chick breaks the shell when it is hatched and begins life, so the Lord comes forth living from the tomb.  The roasted egg on the seder plate, symbolizes the festival sacrifice that was offered in the Temple in Jerusalem.

Whatever you believe, eggs are good and Great Valley Poultry's fresh, organic eggs are the best. Great Valley Poultry is located on a four and a half acre farm in Manteca where the Corbin family raise cage free chickens to produce eggs. You will taste the difference.
