Vermont 4-H Volunteer’s Request for Oregon 4-H Pen pals
The University of Vermont Extension 4-H staff support 4-H volunteer, Kelly Smith, in her request for 4-H pen pals. See below.
“My name is Kelly Smith and I am the Leader of a newly formed 4-H group called the Unlimited Explorers.  We are located in Topsham, Vermont. Our group is in search of having 4-H pen pals and I am contacting you to see if you could direct me to 4-H groups in your area that I could contact. I recently had a member that flew to Portland, Oregon for a gymnastics trip and so she would like to have a pen pal from Oregon.  I appreciate any and all help and direction that you can give me in this.”
If you know of a 4-H group who would like to be a pen pal, please contact Kelly at:

Corbett Critters 2013 Service Project
On January 11, 2013, the Corbett Critters 4H group met to assemble warm knotted fleece blankets as their 2013 service project.  A vote was taken and the children decided to distribute the blankets to the homeless.  The blankets were gratefully accepted by My Father's House, a community shelter located in Gresham, OR.  My Father's House provides shelter and a safe environment for 30 homeless families.  Along with accommodations, they also assist with employment and affordable housing.  Pictured is volunteer director Sara Green with Corbett Critter Zoë Chatterton.  Ms. Green stated that the blankets will be included as a welcome gift to each family as they enter the facility.
