Welcome!
It's difficult to believe, but a quarter of the year is gone!  These first three months flew by (I'm not quite sure where the days went!) and I'm looking forward to spring.  In my former life, I was a bit of a numbers person (but only in the sense that I kept track of them, not that I am some math genius!). Old habits die hard, so I'm keeping track of how much I've been reading this year.  In the first three months of the year, I've worked on 30 titles for a total of 1,897,114 words.  And if you factor in that I read each manuscript twice, that means I've read over three and a half MILLION words that you guys have written.  Amazing, isn't it? (And I mean the part about how much you have written - I know I certainly couldn't write that much!).

Keep on writing - I can't wait to see what the next three months brings!

Helpful Hint - Song Lyrics

Over the past year or so, I've seen some great manuscripts use song lyrics of popular (and maybe not so popular) songs.  Here's a great blog post on the pitfalls of not getting permission and steps to get permission to legally use those song lyrics!
Story Bible and Character Development
Story Bibles:  Over the past few weeks, I've posted some great links to some story bible and character development worksheets.  But, if you don't follow me on Twitter, you might have missed them.  Check out this blog post for all the details!

About Faith

Leaving the corporate world behind, Faith joined the untold thousands of people who...read.  But she doesn't just read - she also corrects!  And encourages authors to find that right word or phrasing!  And leaps buildings in a single bound! (No, wait - that's Superman, right? Oh, well - I never claimed to be a superhero!)

Featured Author

Let's welcome this month's author, Edward Coburn.  He's writing a series (The Dog Who Ate the ???), a twenty-six title series that focuses on Adam, a physic "finder" living in a small town, as well as The Last Killer Standing.

1)      What were your favorite books growing up? In grade school and junior high, I’d probably say SciFi, though I did read a bit of Tarzan as well. In high school I read mostly sports books where the star was in high school and, of course, he got the girl. Later I read most anything: SciFi, adventure, and detective.
