Activities

Summary of LSCB Activities January – March 2013

The LSCB hosted a visit from the National Safeguarding Scoping and Support Project Team in January. They met with a variety of key professionals from adult and children’s safeguarding to explore good practice, particularly with regard to sexual exploitation.  It was a successful visit and feedback from the Team noted the strength of multi agency working in Suffolk.

Performance

LSCB Performance and Monitoring

The Government published the revised inter-agency statutory guidance, Working Together document on 21st March 2013. This statutory guidance sets out key roles for individual organisations and key elements of effective local arrangements for safeguarding. It states the importance of these arrangements being strongly led and promoted at a local level, specifically by a strong lead from local authority members, and the commitment of chief officers in all agencies, in particular the Director of Children’s Services and Lead Member for Children’s Services in each local authority; and effective local coordination and challenge by the LSCBs in each area.
