Anytune on the Bus

In this newsletter, we provide some news about the latest Anytune update - version 3.7 which includes Audiobus support! We provide another update on Anytune for Mac progress and introduce a new featured artist! Of course we also provide a Top Tip for making the most of Anytune's features.

Anytune 3.7 - Now Available!

Anytune takes a seat on the Audiobus.

New Features in 3.7

Audiobus Compatibility

The big news for Anytune is the introduction of Audiobus compatibility. Now you can stream live audio directly to other Audiobus-compatible apps!

The basic idea behind Audiobus is to bring together a variety of different audio apps so that the output from the apps can be combined, mixed, have effects applied, and even recorded.

Macworld provides a nice overview of how to make use of Audiobus.

We've also created our own video showing how you can use Anytune with Garageband:

We're really excited about Audiobus! As this is our first foray into Audiobus land, we'd love to hear from you what else we should consider doing to improve our integration.

Bug Fixes

Some more bug fixes under the covers. If you find something that doesn't seem to be working right, please let us know! Drop us a line anytime at support@anytune.us

Anytune for Mac

Development continues on Anytune for Mac!

Since our last newsletter, we've got some more stuff working! Yipee!

Export - includes several choices for AAC bitrates on export, and also support for AIFF export.

Audiomarks are now being displayed on playback, as you would expect.

Volume controls are now operational.

We reorganized the Tunes listing to be horizontal instead of vertical like it is on the iPad. This makes it much nicer for sorting and seeing all of the song info at a glance.

Next up:
  • Integrate with iTunes for transparent import
  • Drag and drop support for importing
  • Refine overall look and feel of the UI
We're getting there on the UI. Hopefully by the time our next newsletter is ready to go, we'll be able to share a some screenshots. We're close now, but there are enough changes coming that we're not quite comfortable with sharing them yet.

We're always happy to hear your ideas and feedback. The Anytune for Mac survey is still up and running so please take a moment to fill out our survey.

Top Tip

You can save multiple loops with Anytune's Loop Mark feature.

Touch the yellow A and B handles on either waveform to set your loop. Touch the "Add Loop Mark" button. Now touch the yellow A handle and move it to another location. The "Delete Loop Mark" button will change back to an "Add Loop Mark" button. Loop saving is done regardless of where the playhead is. It is based on where the A and B positions are.
