4 Elements Yoga Shop and Studio
Friday May 3rd, Karma Yoga, 5:30-6:30pm, 100% of proceeds to benefit 'A Family Place' an emergent relief nursery opening in the fall here in Yamhill County. There is also a list of items to donate (a great way to 'pay' for your karma yoga class) or the suggested donation of $5. Karma Yoga is followed by Christine's funky and freewheelin' freestyle dance 7:30-9pm.
Saturday (Spring Fling) Erin Bowman is teaching a free yoga class at Linfield College 9:30-10:30am, and Anna is doing free yoga & meditation sessions at the First Baptist Church during their Health Fair (10-2pm). 4 elements studio hosts regular classes and our shop is open with bubbles, balloons & specials from 11-6, one of which is a drawing to win a free month of yoga (the perfect mother's day gift!)

The "Play of Light Show" May 15 - June 10 Currents Gallery in McMinnville is pleased to introduce its new show, "The Play of Light" by watercolor artist, Daryl Nelson and stained glass and multi-media artist, Christine Xthona, both Currents Gallery members. The interplay of the gallery's new ambient lighting, along with the skillful use of light in the featured artwork, will dazzle the senses.

Gallery Theater
The Wiz, a main stage musical, opens Friday, May 3-25 at Gallery Theater. Join us on Saturday, May 4 for a free artists’ reception at intermission! The event will be catered by Chaplain's Pantry and feature wine by the glass. Scenic Artist, Dee Boyles, professional puppet maker, Tyler Fuqua, mural artist Cathy Long, and costume designer Luke Zimmerman will be our special guests. The event is included in the cost of regular admission that evening!

LU’AU: Linfield College will celebrate its 41st annual Lu’au celebration, Hot Hawaiian Nights, on Saturday, May 4. A Hawaiian dinner at 5 p.m. will be followed by a live performance at 7:30 p.m. For more than four decades, Linfield students have brought the aloha spirit to enthusiastic regional and campus crowds. This year more than 100 students will share dances and music from the Hawaiian Islands, New Zealand and Tahiti. The Linfield Concert Choir will also perform, singing in a native New Zealand language. General admission tickets for the performance are $15. Tickets for both the show and dinner are $25 for general admission and $28 for reserved seats. Student and senior (60+) tickets are $18 and $20. Children’s tickets are $10 and $15. Children under age two, seated on their parents’ laps, are admitted free without a meal. Tickets can be purchased at www.linfieldtickets.com. Featuring Amanda Marshall, US Attorney for Oregon, and Nita Belles, Oregonians Against Trafficking Humans (OATH), Central Oregon Director. Marshall will share her experiences in the fight against human trafficking at home and abroad. She recently traveled to Jakarta, Indonesia to train lawyers and judges in the prosecution of human trafficking offenders. Belles is an ordained minister who works with victim rescue and restoration, law enforcement, social services, the medical and faith communities. Her passion is fighting sex trafficking of young girls at the Super Bowl. She is author of In Our Backyard: A Christian Perspective on Human Trafficking in the United States.
