BCCFA 2013 Conference and AGM - Early Bird Deadline May 1st - Register now 
Hosted by the Wetzin'Kwa Community Forest in the Bulkley Valley, traditional home of the Wet'suwet'en people. Register and pay on line for the conference, sponsorships and the trade show.
When: May 23-25, 2013
Where: Hudson Bay Lodge 3251 Yellowhead Highway 16 East Box 3636, Smithers, BC V0J 2N0
What: View the Conference Program. The conference will focus on practical and timely topics relevant to community forests with lots of time for networking and plenty of good food. Wetzin'Kwa Community Forest will offer a field tour on Thursday May 23rd. The welcome reception will be held that same evening. The next two days will be a combination of presentations, discussions and workshops. The AGM will be held on Friday May 24 and the Banquet on the night of the 25th.

Join the Trade Show - With funding from the Digital Technology Adoption Pilot Program, the trade show puts a focus on digital technology to streamline community forest administration and create efficiencies in the office and in the field. Please note that all trade show participants must be registered for the conference.   more information

BCCFA Board of Directors Recruitment
Please consider becoming involved in the work of the BCCFA.4 seats will need to be filled on the board at the AGM on May 24th. BCCFA members in good standing may put forward the name of anyone in their organization: board members, staff or other representatives. A Director Application Form must be received by the Executive Director by May 24th at 10:00 am by email or in person. A person does not need to attend the AGM to be eligible to put their name forward. Contact Grant Thompson for more information on the job of a board member.

Community Forests and the Provincial Election
BCCFA’s Executive Director, Jennifer Gunter spoke to CBC Radio ‘s On The Island host Gregor Craigie on the parties' forestry platforms, and what community forests want to see from whoever forms the next government. listen  An information package to promote community forestry and the BCCFA during the election has been developed for use by BCCFA members and supporters.  more information
