Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency Workshop in Libya
On 16th and 17th of April, 2013 the Renewable Energy Authority of Libya (REAOL) and the World Bank organized a workshop on the Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency in Tripoli, Libya. The workshop aimed at promoting the integration of renewable energy technologies (solar and wind) with the National Electricity System of Libya, as well as exploring means of energy efficiency implementation measures, with a particular focus on the building sector. The workshop was opened by the Libyan Electricity and Renewable Energy Minister, Dr. AwadIbraik Al-Baraasi and attended by the former Prime Minister of Libya, Dr. Abdurrahim El-Keib. It was recommended that the Libyan government should have a minimum level of renewable energy target of 10% of electricity generated by 2025 and for REAOL to prepare a roadmap towards the realization of the presented renewable energy strategy as well as the energy efficiency program.

Energy Efficiency Policies for the SEMED/Arab Region Workshop
The event was organized by RCREEE in 15-16 April, 2013 in close co-ordination with International Energy Agency (IEA) and League of Arab States (LAS) with a financial support from European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).The workshop was held at the Crown Plaza in Amman under the patronage of His Excellency Malek Kabariti, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jordan.  35 Regional and international experts participated in the policy dialogue including representatives from 10 Arab States.  The participants contributed with updates on regional and national EE policies, and produced new sectoral EE policy recommendations fine-tuned to the SEMED-Arab region. The policy builds on the International Energy Agency (IEA) global 25 Energy Efficiency Policy Recommendations.

RCREEE Announces the Starting of its Next Internship Round
RCREEE offers recent graduates from its member states 6 internship opportunities at its regional headquarters in Cairo. The internships start on 15 August 2013 for 5 months. The selected interns should be prepared to relocate to Cairo and work in a fast-paced team environment. Interns will complete the internship period having gained a broad experience in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and regional cooperation fields.
