Directors Message

Dear Students:
Amazingly, we are once again at the close of another academic year. Congratulations to everyone for your hard work and dedication throughout the 2012-13 academic year and most especially special congratulations to all the seniors graduating this month!!! I/we wish that this year was one of growth and rewards both academically and personally for all of you.
Although, it is difficult to see the seniors that have been very close to La Casa Latina and very involved in leadership positions while here, leave campus, it is very exciting to know that you are headed to great futures and we look forward to hearing of your many adventures and contributions to our society in years to come.  We also look forward to keeping in touch with you, as you now become the role models and inspiration to Latina/o current and incoming students.

So, as we celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of our seniors, we also enthusiastically look forward to the next academic year. It will be an exciting year with some very significant new opportunities for enhancing the work of La Casa Latina. Sometime in the Spring of 2014 La Casa Latina will move back to the Renovated ARCH Building. New spaces are great, but most importantly will be the new life these spaces will provide to our community to flourish at Penn, make contributions and engage with the wider communities on campus and throughout Philadelphia. Next year will also be a year of programmatic growth and development. We have spent a lot of time this year assessing our programs, talking to students about what works to truly support the success of our students at Penn, therefore please continue to send us feedback and come talk to us about your ideas and suggestions for improving our work in support of your success.

As you know we work over the summer months so we look forward to hearing from you and keeping in touch.

Best wishes in your summer jobs, internships, international experiences and going back home.

Sincerely,
Johnny Irizarry
