News and Events
April 19th: Death of Dr. Robyn Barst, PH Pioneer
We at PHA Canada regret to hear of the death of an irreplaceable member and mentor in the PH community: Dr. Robyn Barst. Dr. Barst was one of the first doctors behind PH research in the 1980s, and since then had dedicated her life towards the health and well-being of patients. Dr. Barst also acted as a mentor to other physicians, consulted with corporate companies developing PH treatments, and served as a member and Chair of PHA (USA)’s Scientific Leadership Council and as a member of PHA (USA)'s Board of Trustees. Most recently, Dr. Barst was involved in the founding of the Robyn Barst Pediatric PH Research Fund. Dr. Barst's family has requested that donations in her memory be made to Robyn’s Fund. Resource Tip of the Month - Events for PHA Canada
Have you ever considered making PH awareness the focus of a birthday or anniversary party? What makes social get-togethers unique is that they are gatherings of people who care for one another. Your special events are extremely meaningful occasions, and are made even more so when they represent a cause that has personally affected your life or the life of a loved one. We at PHA Canada would love to help you dedicate one of your special occasions towards the cause of PH. Write to us at bmcbride@phacanada.ca to learn more.
