GROWING BOLDER BLOGS

We're thrilled to welcome Neil Gussman to the Growing Bolder blogging team! We first met Neil when he was a guest on the Growing Bolder Radio Show to discuss why he decided to rejoin the National Guard after a 23-year absence and go to Iraq in his late 50s. He's back (but still on active duty) and using that same dedication on two other important missions -- keeping himself in shape as he prepares to turn 60 and training for his first Ironman. In his blogs, he shares his training tips and encouragement for others trying to stay in shape as they age. Start here with his first post, then click here to read his other entires. Welcome to Team GB, Neil!

Nearly every family in this country has been affected by cancer, and the Growing Bolder family is no exception. It's one of the reasons we're so passionate about our new project, "Surviving & Thriving." It's our great honor to tell the stories of men, women and children surviving life's toughest challenges and coming out on the other side stronger than ever. One of those incredible people is a member of our extended family. Jessica Sanchez is a morning news anchor at WKMG Local 6, our producing partners for "Surviving & Thriving." And she recently announced she is battling Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. To support Jessica and thousands of other people in the community touched by cancer, Local 6 has teamed up with the American Cancer Center and its Relay for Life of Apopka, which will be held this Saturday at 2 p.m. Click below for more details, including information on starting your own Realy for Life team, no matter where you live.
Be sure to sign up for our "Surviving & Thriving" newsletter for more inspirational stories about survivors. The next issue will be released this weekend, so sign up today!
