David Latimer first planted his bottle garden in 1960 and last watered it in 1972 before tightly sealing it shut 'as an experiment'. The hardy spiderworts plant inside has grown to fill the 10-gallon container by surviving entirely on recycled air, nutrients and water.

Al Khayouf Special Conservation
Site
Al Khayouf is located in the Al Balqa Governorate in the downstream area of King Talal Dam. It was declared by the Ministry of Environment as a special conservation site in 2011 due to its importance as a home to several species of fauna and flora and to its remarkable landscape. The site faces several threats including hunting, grazing and as prospective land for quarrying.

This is a species of rodent which is hard to observe since it spends most of its life under ground. However, its tracks can often be seen and give us clues to its activity. Although considered a pest species for farmers, it is believed to have many unknown benefits to the soil.
