Join us for our current art exhibition, Repatriation and Deception:  Post-World War II Soviet Armenia, paintings and drawings by Hazel Antaramian-Hofman, this Thursday, April 18, 2013, 5PM-8PM, with a special audio-visual artist presentation at 6PM.  The artist will discuss her past two-year historical and ethnographic findings, to include excerpted interview quotes and never before publically-shown photographs of the tragic consequences experienced by Diaspora Armenians from around the world upon “returning” to an unknown Armenian homeland soon after the end of World War II.  Her travels to interview surviving repatriates have taken her around the country, to France, and Armenia. From scanned photographs, Antaramian-Hofman uses the pictures along with period Soviet poster art and iconic cultural symbols of Armenia to create multi-media-based paintings and drawings. For more information call the AMFEH at 559-224-1001.
