Montessori Moment
The Exchange Club of Bowling Green recognized 88 area youth for the good things they have accomplished this past year.

The Exchange Club’s Positive Start program asks teachers to honor students who have done something positive. Students must live in the Bowling Green School District and be in grades 7 or 8.

MANY of the alumni of MSBG were recognized that day. We celebrate all our alumni as each and every one of them make a difference in the world.

Enrollment is going well!

Enrollment is filling very quickly for fall at ALL levels! It's very exciting. We have a lot of staffing and ordering decisions to make in the very near future. If you haven't turned your form in, please do so!

If you know someone who may be interested in enrolling, please encourage them to tour!

Help us fill a 3rd early childhood classroom! We are very close to capacity for our current classrooms, but we can add a third. This has been a possibility for several years but we are more full this year than ever. With enough interest, we can make the 3rd classroom a reality and have additional spaces to accommodate more families!

Hiring

We are currently interviewing Extended Care, Spanish Teacher, and Intervention Specialist candidates. If you are interested, please submit your resume and cover letter to msbg@montessorischoolbg.org.

Kroger News-Time to Re-enroll

Starting April 1, 2013, all Kroger Plus cards must be reenrolled to continue to receive benefits paid to MSBG.  Reenrollment must happen before April 30th in order to avoid any interruption in the rebates paid.  This is for ALL Kroger Plus cards, even if you just enrolled your card for this year.  It is very simple to reenroll – just login to your Kroger Plus account
(
www.krogercommunityrewards.com
or
www.kroger.com and click Community),
and make sure that MSBG is selected as your non-profit of choice.  If you have any problems with re-enrollment, please contact Alisa Suelzer at
Alisa.Suelzer@gmail.com.

In the meantime, we plan to give the rebate received  previously by the families to the MSBG PTO.  As members of the PTO, all parents will then have a say in how that money is put to use for the benefit of all of our children.  25% currently goes to the scholarship fund and that will continue as well. So please continue to support this program – the more cards enrolled, the more money that is paid out of Kroger’s charitable fund.   If at any time, Kroger is able to begin giving individual card detail again, we will then resume crediting individual tuition accounts.  Thank you for your support of our school!

Annual Fund
100 % of our Board of Directors as well as our MSBG Faculty/Staff contribute financially to the school's annual campaign fund. MSBG is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity. You can donate to the school and your contribution is fully deductible to the extent of the law.
Save on Taxes
Please remember that "daycare" is a deductible expense. Since Bowling Green City Schools only offers ½ day (2.5 hrs) kindergarten, full day students at MSBG (6.5 hrs) can count 4.0 hrs as daycare (meaning 61.53% of their tuition is tax deductable); half day students can count 100% of their tuition as daycare as long as they attend a BG school the other ½ day. All extended care (any age) and all preschool tuition is also tax deductable. Please email Leigh Ann McKinney, our Business Manager, if you need a childcare credit expense report. She will need a two-week turnaround.
Board Nominations
We are currently seeking recommendations for potential new members of our MSBG Board of Directors. Parents and friends of MSBG are very helpful in reaching out to potential volunteers so we are seeking your recommendations. Generally we are looking for individuals who are involved in the community or who have experience with nonprofits. We are especially looking for someone with fundraising and development expertise. Mostly we want individuals who will be passionate about MSBG! Please let us know of any individuals in the Bowling Green area who you would recommend. They do not have to be directly connected to MSBG. If you have any questions, please contact the school office. Click HERE for the printable form. Click HERE for the online submission form.
