Here's the up to date info from England Touch

Before the gold, silver, or bronze, it's the red, white and blue..
As at this year's Home Nations,
it's not the colours you go home with that matter,
it's the ones you came in.
We are one team,
We are England Touch.

#TouchNationals 2013 Results

#TouchNationals 2013 saw the South East Taipans (men's squad, pictured top left), the South East Sharks (women's squad, pictured top centre), and the Northern Monkeys (Masters Division, pictured top right) crowned as National Champions of their respective divisions.   Individual winners were as follows: Men's MVP, James Heptonstall (West Wildcats, pictured bottom left); Women's MVP, Susan Kidd (SE Taipans, pictured bottom & 2nd from left); Masters MVP, Jeff Bimson (Northern Monkeys, bottom centre); Coach of the tournament, Natasha Verniquet (West Wildcats Women, bottom & second from right); and Referee of the tournament, Neil Fitzpatrick (bottom right).  Congratulations to all of the trophy winners!

A table of all of the official results can be found on the ETA website.  The ETA would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who contributed to the organisation of the #TouchNationals, Bolton School for providing a superb venue, the England Touch medical teams, and the referees.  A successful tournament wouldn't have been possible without your contribution!
Catch up with the action from the event in the multitude of photographs now uploaded on the ETA Facebook Page.

NTS Round 1 Groups Announced - Nottingham

The NTS season begins this weekend (20th April) with round 1 being hosted by Nottingham Touch.  The NTS is England Touch's premier club event and will see the 16 highest ranked club teams in England battle it out over a series of five rounds, culminating in a series finals that will coincide with the Challenge Touch Series finals.  London Galaxy have been crowned the NTS champions for the past 4 years in a row, we have a feeling that this season's NTS will be closer than ever before.  Find out who will be competing in the confirmed draw for Round 1.

CTS Round 1 - Last Chance to Enter - Reading

There are currently only 2 spaces left in the Reading/Thames Valley CTS event on 27th April.  The aim of the CTS remains to develop the club game and encourage more club sides to get involved at a national level.  Your club must be affiliated with the ETA in order to enter.  Take this last gasp opportunity to ensure your place is secured.

Mother & Daughter make #TouchNationals history!

The Bournemouth 7s Festival takes place on the bank holiday weekend of 24 - 26 May, and Touch plays a massive part of it!  If you're an ETA affiliated club then take a look at what the festival offers.  If you're uncertain of exactly what the financial costs and incentives included are then please do not hesitate to contact the ETA's PR/Marketing Director (Nelson@Englandtouch.org.uk), who will be able to put you in contact with the Bournemouth 7s Festival Operations Manager to discuss the attractive packages on offer.

#TouchNationals - Taipans say thanks!

Men's National Champions - South East Taipans - brotherly duo of Daniel & Clint Rowling had this to say:   "We’re over the moon with the outcome, and couldn't be more pleased that we were able to produce our best performance in the final. Before the game we spoke about the importance of doing the little things right and the big things coming as a result and fortunately things fell into place for us.  As relatively inexperienced coaches we were lucky to have a squad of great guys with winning attitudes.

The tournament organisers put on a great event and everything ran like clockwork. The fields were in great condition, the venue was well laid out, communication was clear and the referees were tireless. The ETA should be proud of producing a tournament of this quality.

The biggest positive for us was seeing firsthand the continued development of the regions outside of the South East. All of our matches were a real challenge and came down to the final whistle - the competition keeps getting fiercer. It’s great to see the advances that are being made, it’s really positive for England touch.

During the lead up we joked how 2013 is the year of the snake but one thing's for sure, the Taipans will be back in 2014 and looking to make it three in a row - hisss!"

Shane Hills, normally known as one of England's European Touch Referees, took to the field as a Midland Tigers player at the #TouchNationals and had this to share with the ETA:

"Thanks to the ETA for an amazing tournament. Great venue and facilities. Weather was typical of England but all else ran smoothly. Great to see it from the other side & cannot believe the schedule on Sunday actually ran ahead of time by 10 minutes. That never happens. Thanks to Tom BedkowskiShelley Grace and all the other little elves that helped make that a huge success. I believe all the teams had an enjoyable experience."
