Fifth European Greenways Conference.The Spanish Railways Foundation (SRF) and the European Greenways Association (EGWA) are organizing the Fifth European Greenways Conference, coinciding with the period of the Spanish presidency of the European Union and the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Lille declaration.
11-12 June, Alba, Italy. Development of Tourism for All. International Congress. A two-day congress fully dedicated to accessible tourism and its perspectives for the future will examine “Development of Tourism for All – Promotional Strategies and Good Practices in the Offer” at the Congress hall of the Ferrero Foundation.
Call for Papers 25-26 November, 2010. III International Congress on Tourism for All, Valladolid, Spain. The ONCE Foundation for co-operation and inclusion of disabled people invites you to participate at the 3rd International Congress on Tourism for All, addressing the main theme of Cultural Tourism. This event is organised with the special co-operation of the European Network for Accessible Tourism (ENAT). Proposals for papers, workshops, exhibitions should be sent by 30 May 2010.
Vodafone España has been awarded the Universal Accessibility Management System Certificate for 35 of its stores. The certificate has been granted against Standard UNE 170001-2:2007 by the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification (AENOR).
The Regional Algarve Tourist Board (ERTA) has this week revealed its intention to improve facilities in the Algarve for the disabled tourists, aiming to make the region more adequate for their needs and in turn welcome a sector that had previously been unexplored.
The cream of English tourism was marked by the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2010 in Brighton on St George's Day, 23rd April. A total of 46 gold and silver winners were selected from more than 100 regional winners submitted by the nine regions in England. These were assessed by independent assessors and a team of judges to make it through to the national final.
In its first meeting after the coming into force of the Treaty of Lisbon, EU Tourism Ministers approved the “Madrid Declaration”, making a series of recommendations to the European Commission to implement a European tourism policy for the first time in the EU's history.
