Rotary supports Churchill
Churchill School would like to thank the Schaumburg A.M. Rotary Club for awarding the school a Community Grant to purchase a grow cart. The mobile grow cart is built with special lights that will allow the Churchill Garden Club students to plant seedlings early in the year and later transfer them to the outside garden. Because the cart is mobile, it can travel to classrooms around the building and help all students learn about the school garden.
Donate school supplies
District 54 is always looking for new school supplies for students in financial need. Currently we are supporting the Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce Tools for Success school supply collection which runs through Aug. 9. A collection box labeled Tools for Success is located in the lobby of our administration buildings at 520 and 524 E. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg. Donated school supplies will be distributed anonymously through school personnel.
Items needed for the collection include loose-leaf paper, pens, pocket folders, scissors, colored markers and pencils, crayons, highlighters, pencils, spiral notebooks and three-ring binders. Students also need rulers, glue sticks and bottles, and backpacks. Please note this collection is for new items only.
Individuals are also welcome to donate supplies directly to their neighborhood school or to District 54 after Aug. 9. Thank you in advance for your support.
