This is a very exciting month for us as 'Weightless' officially releases on June 25'th. There are a dozen tunes on it, some you've maybe heard, some you've never heard, and a surprise or two thrown in. We truly hope it resonates with you, and you find yourself unable to eject it from the player because you're too busy throwing out your other CDs. Seriously though, we hope you love it as much as we love you for owning it. We have some great kick off shows to celebrate that you can find below.
The past several weeks has found us traveling far and wide, hoping to spread the Naked Blue gospel to some new folks. We love the Deep South and found ourselves amongst old and new friends. It's also a great place to tour when you have a Bluetick Hound in tow.
May found us in Nevada (and make sure you pronounce that first "a" like apple) and then sunny California touring and exploring wine country while we worked our way down to LA. Once again we found ourselves with many old and new friends, having a blast, and did I mention that kick ass wine? While basking in the afterglow of hard work (see 'fun' also) we shared tales of our adventures amongst ourselves, re-living our favorite moments and places.
As troubadours we get to see a lot of the country and meet all sorts of people. We always find ourselves reaffirming our belief that most people are really nice, really helpful, and good souls. You may not always believe this sitting in traffic on the freeway... but travel around the country with a guitar and damn near everyone wants to feed and shelter you. Even when we're away from home, we really feel "at home" due to the kindness of friends and strangers who help us along the way. I'll stop blabbering now. Jen told me to keep it short. House Concerts are a great way to introduce your friends and neighbors to the music you love & a great excuse to have a party. And they are KEY to our survival on the road - to be able to, as Scott says, "spread the Naked Blue gospel", which we are fired up to do this year! By collecting 'suggested donations' from your guests, a single house concert can help finance an entire week on the road. We really want to take this new CD further and wider than we've been able to do in the past and have been brainstorming how we can make it happen.
