Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. Parking. The Next Level.
Park +

Park +

Wouldn’t you like the ability to evaluate parking, traffic, development, alternative modes, management, and allocation patterns to determine the impacts of community or campus parking demands?  Even more, wouldn’t it be great to be able to determine how all these elements affect overall community or campus sufficiency?  Well – your desires have been answered!  The parking professionals at Kimley-Horn and Associates have developed Park+ in the ArcGIS mapping platform to allow for more dynamic data management and robust evaluations of parking scenarios.

Results and output include overall parking demand, surplus/deficit, and latent demand.  The ultimate goal of the model is to provide clients a better tool for evaluating and managing parking demand decisions, allowing for a more holistic and comprehensive planning function. In the Works at Kimley-Horn

The KHA parking team is hard at work serving clients and communities. Here is a brief snapshot of a few of the projects recently completed:

Durham, NC

As part of a larger master plan conducted for the Downtown Durham area, Kimley-Horn developed and utilized a Park+ model to evaluate future demand conditions related to the expected growth in the community. The model was used to predict existing deficiencies, future infrastructure needs, and the impacts of charging for on-street parking. The results helped to define strategies and recommendations for the report, while vetting and confirming the need for enhanced parking management options.

Texas A&M University
As part of a parking facility feasibility study, Kimley-Horn developed a Park+ model to evaluate the location, size, and orientation of new parking facilities on campus. The predictive analysis used campus master plan recommendations and expected campus expansion plans to predict areas of high parking demand intensity. The results of the model allowed the University to reduce the total number of spaces considered for new parking and relocate proposed parking facilities to better fit the needs on campus.
