Naples has been warming up with rain showers in the afternoons and less traffic on the roads. The snowbirds have gone home and the locals are enjoying afternoons at the beach or attending one of our The Clay Place on Wheels Parties! Here are a few of our favorite pieces of pottery for this month...

FEATURED ARTIST OF THE MONTH
Grace Sheese entered college wanting to be a doctor. Along the way, she met and fell in love with clay. Uncertain of where her relationship was going, she taught 3rd and 4th grade for 7 years before finally committing to being a full time studio potter. After 12 years, her relationship with clay was getting stale. In 2009, she went to grad school with the hopes of rekindling her passion. It worked. Are you looking for a creative activity for an upcoming party?
The CLAY PLACE has the answer, a “paint-your-own fish platter” workshop! This is the perfect party idea for a bridal shower, best friend’s birthday, office gathering, etc. … the possibilities are endless!
For a nominal fee, The Clay Place, the oldest professional pottery in Naples, will come to your home, office, clubhouse or facility to offer a “hands-on” ceramic painting experience. Local artist, Jim Rice, will lead off the 2-hour session with a brief explanation of the ever-popular “fish platter” and then you and your friends will have the opportunity to design and paint a fish piece of your own.
The Clay Place supplies everything necessary to create your masterpiece – you just need to provide the place to paint.
