A Musical performance by Bengali rock band Brishti 
 
Brishti is performing for 3 years in a row to support the fund raising for Amrita-Seattle.
 
Brishti, “Rain”, Seattle's beloved Bangla Band, has been rocking the Seattle music lovers for over 6 years capturing the hearts and minds with their musical performances. Brishti was formed on 15th August, 2006 by a few creative souls united by their passion for bringing the rich heritage of Bangla music to Seattle. Quintessential to their unique sound, you will find influences of folk, rock, blues, latin and a variety of world music genres, and of course ingrained in their roots, Bengali and Indian folk and classical genres such as Bhatiali, Toppa, Shyama Sangeet, Lalaner gaan, and Baul. Through their creativity and imagination, the band presents their own compositions as well as their own interpretations of renowned world musicians and music legends from Bengal.

Bengali International Film festival (BIFF)
June 28-30, 2013

Amrita-Seattle and Data Bazaar Media Ventures is hosting Seattle's first Bengali International Film Festival. 2013 is marked as “100 years of Indian Cinema” and as part of that celebration, a group of Bengali movie lovers in Seattle is organizing the first ever Bengali film festival in Seattle to showcase the best of current Bengali films and cinematic talent. 
A collection of 6 new releases including 60th National Film Award winner for Best Feature Film in Bengali, Shobdo, Directed by Kaushik Ganguly will be screened.


The list also includes Suman Ghosh's Shyamal Uncle Turns off the lights and Gautam Ghosh's Shunyo Ankwo, featuring Soumitro Chantterjee, Konkona Sen Sharma and Priyanshu Chatterjee.
