30 Days to Arrival in Taichung
Frantic
This past month has been a frantic mess. Keeping the house clean for the realtor, multiple trips to visit churches and friends, lots of wonderful meals with sweet friends and all of our regular life events. It's been crazy, but we wouldn't trade a minute. All of the things we now take for granted will soon be taken away in trade for a new normal.
Now the final days begin. Last meals, closing accounts, last visits, and the most painful - last face to face conversations with friends and family, Lord Willing, at least for a while. As hard as it will be to say these final goodbyes and see you laters, we leave with our hearts overflowing.
Please Pray
Today, we will finish our visa application. Because we are the first missionary visa applicant that is a joint venture between the International Mission Board and a local church, there are no specific guidelines for what the foreign ministry in Taiwan will be looking for. We have worked closely with our partners at the IMB office in Taipei to present the best case we can. Ultimately however, our faith is not in the government, but rather the sovereign Lord. Proverbs 21:1 says, "The king's heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord, he turns it wherever he will."
Please pray that whomever receives our file will grant the Visa we need to enter Taiwan and begin our ministry there.
Our Home. We are very grateful that we have not had to move out of our home during this time, but we do need to sell it, so please commit to praying for us that God would provide a buyer soon.
Prayer Requests
- For our children as they walk through saying goodbye to their friends and family.
- For our church, TBC Amarillo, as they continue to seek the man God has to take the position now open and for a great transition for his family.
- For more people to be called to the mission field - maybe some of you! Call us, we would love to talk to you about what God may be asking you to consider doing.
