Dear friends

For the social media types - have you joined us on
facebook and twitter yet?

We are just finalising a new logo and brochure to get ready to launch next month.  We hope you might join with us in this re-launch as we seek to engage Christians all around Australia on the issues effecting Palestinians and Israelis.

As we send this e-mail there is news coming in about increasing 'price tag' attacks - in the last fortnight there has been vandalism of an Abbey in Jerusalem, and Christian graves in Jaffa.  The Israeli Government is reporting that these are two of 165 'price tag' attacks this year, and the UN reports that 1,000 olive trees were damaged just last week.  It is a difficult time to be in Palestine.

In this context, it is exciting that Carole Powell - Australia's first ever Christian Peacemaker Team team member is on the ground in Hebron.  To hear about her travels - please visit her blog - and send her a message of encouragement.

Invite speaker to share experiences from Palestine

The Palestine Israel Ecumenical Network has a list of Australians who have traveled to Palestine and are willing to share their experiences with groups around the country.  There are four people who have just returned home from Palestine - two from a Christian Peacemaker Team delegation, and another couple who volunteered with the Ecumenical Accompaniment Program in Palestine Israel (with World Council of Churches).  Contact contact@pien.org.au to arrange a speaker to come to your church or group.
