Hello!

The clocks have gone back, the nights are drawing in and winter is officially here. Luckily for the Serendipity team, we have lots of exciting projects to keep us going!

With 2015 not too far away, we thought we would look back on some of the highlights of this year. We also have lots to look forward to!

Here's to another busy and exciting year ahead!

A look back at Black History Month 2014

Launching at Curve with the talents of Iesher Haughton, Femi Santiago and Bizzi Dixon, and John Simmit, it was fantastic to see so many people come together for a wonderful evening of entertainment to celebrate BHM 2014. October was filled with events from film screenings to poetry sharings, and several musical events, showcasing the best of Black Arts in the UK.
After a wonderful Black History Month 2014, we are looking forward to working with the emerging Black Artists in BHM Live as they create new work to showcase next Spring. We are also thrilled to be able to announce that we will be celebrating the launch of Black History Month 2015 with none other than Jamaica's first lady of Jazz, Myrna Hague. Throughout October 2015 we will be celebrating the centenary of Billie Holiday's Birthday, and we will share further details with you soon about the other fantastic things we have planned!

Creolizing Dance in a Global Age

We are thrilled to announce that Verene A. Shepherd will be contributing the introductory paper and to confirm that Henri Matisse's 'Creole Dancer' will be the cover for the publication. The book will be published next spring, but you can pre-order your copy here. It will also be available for a special price when purchasing tickets for 'Biography' at LDIF 2015.
