Strong 70s funky soul with a modern feel. Works nicely on today's danefloor. Features a nice ballad flip.

Choice funky Modern Soul from the same group that brought you "Shake It", the lush disco arrangements make this a more listenable track. Midtempo shuffler on the flip is far from a throw away track.
Depending on your collecting point of view, you can argue which side is better - suffice to say, this is a rare one that is quality through and through. It never shows up in this condition. Wanted to keep for myself, but you can't hold on to everything!

Clean copy visually. Beginning of both sides have cue burn and distortion. Pounding disco/soul that doesn't show up. Interest spiked after Tom Noble's reedit released on 12". The 45 knocks so hard. Dancefloor explodes every time I play this joint.

Continental Showstoppers - Not Too Young / Never Set Me Free on Seventy 7 -
EX / VG+ - $375
Funky in-demand 70s Crossover Soul. "Not Too Young" is pure class with massive appeal to all the soul scenes. Flip is great too, slower harmony Crossover Soul.
Last of the few spare copies that floated up on this title, the rest have made there way into collections. Mellow sublime funky groover with breaks and socially conscious lyrics.
Midwest Deep Funk classic that storms with tight horn lines and punchy drums, it breaks heavy too. Really nice vocal Crossover flip. A steal at this price.
New Horizon - You Part 1 / You Part 2 on HQ - VG+ light marks - $200
Little known Modern Soul with jazzy/disco elements. The 45 pressed on yellow wax, makes for a slightly noiser pressing than the visual grade. Huge new sound for a recent discovery.
Beautiful deep Gospel Soul 45. My favorite part of this track is it gets better and better through the song, reaching its apex 3/4 of the way through. Highly recommended.
SF Bay Area group harmony balled with nice funky flip.
Neal Sharpe - I've Been Trying / Sara Smile on Joint Venture -
EX stock copy, promo stamp - $75
Recent TX discovery from ex-member of The Brothers 7. Top side is a male/female deep Modern Soul ballad with swirling guitar. The flip features a nice cover of the Hall & Oates classic.
Classic Willie Mitchell Memphis Deep Soul sounds, tough one to find. Features nice harmony backing vocals.
Back Lash - This Ole Heart / This Ole Heart on Walking Tall -
strong VG+ a couple very light marks - $60
Obscure Modern Soul offering on this rare label better known for the Ice Band 45. This version of the song seems rarer than the same title by the group La'Que. Flip features the instrumental track.
Island Disco Boogie with a floating feel. Tough record that is in-demand.
Midtempo Boogie Stepper out of Philly. One of the best tracks off their expensive LP. Really nice to have on 45.
Nasty minimal Boogie with tough synths and nice vocals. Definite sound for today.
Blind drummer from Louisiana imitates Michael Jackson and ends up cutting an album of really danceable Modern Soul. This 45 features 2 of the better cuts from the LP. Nice at this price and highly recommended.

El Rego Et Ses Commandos - Hessa / Ke Amon - Gbetchea on L.A. Aux Ecoutes -
EX stock copy - $80
Great slice of Afro Funk. Isn't often you find EX stock copies of African records. Heavy bass, drums, and guitar drive the dancefloor into a frenzy.
El Rego Et Ses Commandos DeCotonou - Cholera / Ya Maria on Et Aux Ecoutes -
EX excellent - $65
Another great Afro Funk cut. Again, isn't often you find EX stock copies of African records. Minor label damage. A little more jazzy and melodic than Hessa.
El Rego Et Ses Commandos DeCotonou - Djobime / Do Do Baya on African Songs -
EX excellent - $65
You see the theme here. Got lucky to find some copies of awesome Afro Funk in EX condition. Somewhere in between the other two, this one is my personal favorite.
Orchestre Picoby Band - Jo Ahi Nou Se / Vikoue on L.A. Aux Ecoutes -
VG+ light marks - $65
Nice slice of Afro Funk. Slower chunkier rhythm, awesome in its own way.
DC area Psych Garage 45 with a driving beat and Pop harmonies. "Fair and Tender Ladies" features heavier guitar. Rarely offered for sale and not compiled on any release.
Very funky Rock with Psych undertones from the Midwest. Obscure and quite hard to find in this condition.
Hyper obscure Psych 45 recorded in Dallas and unearthed by 2 friends of mine a few years ago. This track was recorded in the late 60s, but did not get released on vinyl until 1977. The handful of copies the group had, have been filed into collections. This may be one of the few times it is ever offered for sale.
I'm also offering their other release. Equally as a rare. Such a superb Dallas Psych 45. This track was also recorded in the late 60s, but did not get released on vinyl until 1977. There were fewer copies of this title available from the group. This may be one of the few times it is ever offered for sale. This sound clip skips on side A, but it plays through on most setups.
