Current support level

Dear friends and fellow laborers,

It’s hard to believe it’s been another month already! We ended up staying in New York for most of January, because the housing Walker Bible Baptist Church provided was so convenient for us and no one else needed it at the time. This enabled us to get together with some of our friends from Walker as well as Old Paths, and to go out on the bus route visitation for an extra month! We really enjoyed the time there, but it’s also been nice to get back south again, where the weather is a little warmer. We had a meeting at Faith Baptist Temple in North Ridgeville, Ohio, January 26th, and headed back to Kentucky after that.

Our journey this month included some unpleasant surprises, which the Lord got us through anyway. First, the night before our scheduled presentation, we discovered an inadvertent copyright violation in our DVD we use. I tracked down and emailed the owner of the material, but I figured she would take a long time to give permission, if ever, and we were very concerned about how to do our meeting without it! But the Lord knows, and by the time we were halfway to our meeting, we got an email from her giving us permission to use her work. Having gotten over that hurdle, another presented itself. While driving through Huntington, WV, almost home, we hit a small pothole, which destroyed the trailer suspension and blew a tire. We were waiting for some checks to clear and had no money to fix it or get towed or anything. My dad was able to come and had just sold some firewood, so he had cash to get us a new spring and help me get the spare tire on. It wasn’t attached right, so we had to drive very slowly the last 50 miles home. We spent the next 4 days getting it put right, including rebuilding the entire suspension, including the axle, and getting the body welded back to the frame because it had separated. One of our neighbors is a welder with very low rates, so the whole problem only ended up costing us about $300.

On the plus side, our family is doing well, and we had another church partner with us this month. We are pressing on the trail in spite of the resistance, knowing the service of the Lord is not without its struggles. We certainly appreciate all the prayer and financial support you have given us, and ask that you continue to pray for us as we continue moving forward.

Serving the King of Kings,
