May 2016
The weather is still a bit spring-soggy; but thing are heating up on the Near West Side! our goal this summer is to get people outside, active, and together!
  • The Near West Family Network is all about Cleveland Parks!
    • NWFN's Tuesday Gym Days are moving outside!
Every Tuesday in May, starting May 3, Gym Days is moving outside!  The usual Gym crew will meet at Fairview Park in Ohio City at 9:30 am.  We'll have some water, snacks, toys, and a blanket for the little ones.
    • The very popular Playground Crawl will return on FRIDAYS every week through the summer starting June 10.  We will travel to a different playground on the Near West Side each week with activities and games supported and organized by Near West Recreation.  This is a great opportunity to find new parks and meet new families in our neighborhood.  We will be releasing a flyer and schedule soon, so stay tuned!
    • Also starting in June, we will be hosting the Fairview Park Ice Cream Social Series once again! Thank you LAND Studio for helping to keep this tradition going! More details and dates to come, but if you're able to volunteer, please contact Amy at akulisheck@nearwestfamilynetwork.org
  • THIS FRIDAY (May 6) we are hosting a FAMILY DANCE PARTY!
It isn't outside, but we will be active and together at St. Patrick's Club Ballroom from 6-8pm. S8:30 am - 10:00 am
  • Our Spring Scavenger Hunt is Sunday May 22 from 10am to noon.
Enjoy spring on the Cuyahoga River and amazing views of downtown on this 1.3 mile trail. Take the Scavenger Hunt challenge and post your pics on Instagram! The group will be meeting at 10am at the Centennial Trail sign (corner of Columbus Rd. and Franklin)
