What's New at Camp?

We've been busy in this season at MBC with
many additions, changes, and one very sad departure.

Facility Improvements:
  1. A new griddle: Our old griddle served this ministry faithfully for over 40 years.
  2. A new campfire pit: We built a new campfire location just outside the ARK and upgraded the older location providing more places to gather and experience community.
  3. New Signs Outside and Inside: We have our new signage with our new logo. We also have new signs in our dining room.
  4. Summer Cabins and Washroom: We are redesigning our summer cabins for insulation to provide better heating and cooling to use them longer.
  5. Campground: We've updated the bathrooms and pavilion for campground use this summer. Call to register for daily or weekly use.
  6. A "new to us" Van: We purchased a used van that will provide better travel as we visit with churches and pastors.
  7. New LED lighting: We have been installing LED lighting throughout our buildings for efficiency.
These are just some of the many changes you will see when you visit. We long to be great stewards of all that He has given to us.

Trips to Haiti: I visited Haiti for the first time this past month, and it was life changing for me. Keep your eyes and ears open as Paul Deasy, Director of Love in Motion, and I wrestle with newer ways to get the amazing word out about the need in Haiti.

There is an urgent need to replace the primary ministry vehicle in Haiti!
Paul is raising $45,000 in 40 days (by June 30th) to cover the cost.

Join us this fall for our Work Team and Medical Team trips to Haiti!

Ascend Teen Summer Camps: We praise the Lord that we have not only been able to extend our Summer Camp from one week to two weeks but we are sold out for Week One and almost sold out for Week Two. We are growing exponentially and look forward to seeing how much more we can grow over the next few years.

Golf Tournament: We held our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament raising money for our Camper Scholarship Fund. We raised over $2,900 for our Scholarship Fund! Thanks to many of our sponsors and golfers who showed up and supported. We can't wait until next year as we look to grow and expend.

And last but certainly not least...

Retirement: After over 40 years of faithfully serving MBC, John is retiring this October. John and Nita Theriault have been a bedrock for us. We find it hard to imagine life without them. More information will be coming but we will be celebrating them and allowing you to say "thank you" and "good-bye" this coming Labor Day. Please reserve that on your schedule as we will pull out all the stops for them!
The Passing of the Spatula to Nick Bryant

Embracing the Future

As the Director of a ministry that has been in existence for over 50 years I cannot be afraid of what tomorrow holds...we need to embrace it because we know and serve the One who owns it.

While we find it hard to imagine life without John and Nita, we have been preparing for it. Russ Bryant's grandson, Nick, has proven himself worthy and faithful to wield the spatula, after many months of mentoring under John. Over the past year, John has also been hard at work turning over his knowledge of the facilities - finishing up projects and initiating a new crew into the fold.

Over the past 12 months we have been re-telling the story of our origins: that MBC longed to impact the future generations of families and churches here in New England. That origin is alive and well here at MBC. We know who we are and where we want to be

Time moves at a steady pace. Every moment of every day we continue to live out our present as our future comes, whether we are ready for it or not.
We will be bold in proclaiming His truth as we wrap it with the love and grace of His Gospel.

I hope you will continue to pray for us and partner with us, as we need you to accomplish this mission that is bigger than any one of us.
