HOW TO RIDE THE KC STREETCAR

Now that the KC Streetcar is running, we have helpful tips to make your ride smooth and carefree.

The KC Streetcar operates 7 days a week along a 2 mile route on Main Street in downtown Kansas City.

With 16 stops along the way, it connects the City Market to the Union Station/Crown Center area, with stops in the Kansas City Power & Light District, Central Business
District, and the Crossroads Arts District. A typical wait time for a streetcar is between 10-15 minutes.

Beverages are allowed onboard as long as they have a lid, but food may not be eaten onboard the streetcar. Bikes, strollers and wheelchairs are welcome and can easily board the KC Streetcar using the middle doors, which offer level boarding at the platforms.
When approaching your stop, signal the operator by pressing one of the red buttons, which can be found at various points inside the streetcars.  Once the streetcar comes to a complete stop at the platform, push the illuminated green door button to engage the doors.

When a streetcar arrives at a stop, allow others to exit before boarding the streetcar.  Streetcars are quiet vehicles, powered by electricity. Remember to be mindful of where
you are and of the upcoming stops. There are route maps located at all stops and inside the streetcars to help orient you.
