June is Here!
The weather grows warmer, the days are at their longest, and sweet Summer whispers in everyone’s ear, including mine. June also heralds the beginning of the Summer Music Festival season, with the big Newburgh Illuminated Festival (June 18th) right here in my hometown. There are over 40 bands this year, and I’m quite pleased to announce that Neil Alexander & NAIL is among them. In addition I’ll be playing with a few other groups, including Corey Glover (Living Colour). Later in the month are more of the usual suspects - the Thunderhead Organ Trio, another edition of Wired Wednesdays, Blue Food and more.
Here’s what’s up in June:

Perspectives on the Creative Process

Musician Premik Russel Tubbs

This Sunday June 5th 100 Years Of Spring & The Fullerton Center for Culture & History present "The Inside Angle", a new series  featuring candid discussions focusing on the artist’s perspective. As consumers of art and culture, the “how is it made” aspect of what leads the creator into the journey of their work is not always recognized. “The Inside Angle” plans to present an internal perspective, in a small public seminar with a performance component. The series premieres Sunday, June 5th, 2016, 3:00 pm, at The Fullerton Center for Culture and History, Newburgh, NY.
The first guest is NYC based performer Premik Russell Tubbs, a composer, arranger, producer, and accomplished multi-instrumentalist, equally adept in Jazz, Pop, R&B, World and Experimental genres. Premik has worked with Carlos Santana, Whitney Houston, Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin, Ravi Shankar, Narada Michael Walden, Clarence Clemons, Ornette Coleman, Jackson Browne, Jean-Luc Ponty, Lonnie Liston-Smith, James Taylor, Sting and Lady Gaga among others. The Fullerton Center for Culture and History serves as a residence for artists and others in the process of cultivating their lives and enhancing the community. . The suggested minimum donation for attendees is $10.00. In addition to a live audience, the series will be streamed live at
https://www.concertwindow.com/spring100.
