Everything we are able to accomplish is due to the dedication and financial and hand-on support from our volunteer board, members, and partners. This past month we would like to thank the following individuals and organizations:
- Our Annual Member Party at the Edgewater Yacht Club was a ton of fun again this year - thanks to Sarah Ryzner for her super-organizational skills that brought it all together. Thanks to Mitchell's for donating ice cream! And thanks to Katie, Amy, and Norma for their assistance in pulling it all together. Thanks to all who came out - we hope we see even more next year!
- The Park Crawl continues in partnership with Near West Rec and leadership of Steve Kachmyers and Katie Zucca. If you are available on Friday mornings, there is always fun to be had with a great group of kids, parents, and caregivers. Check out the flyer above for each week's location and activity.
- The Annual Ice Cream Social series wouldn't be possible without the support of LAND Studio! The NWFN volunteers joyfully had out ice cream to all who attend. Thanks to Mitchell's for donating the ice cream on our opening week, thanks to Norma Polanco-Boyd and Joe Boyd for putting some muscle into it and scooping the ice cream that night. Amy Kulisheck and Katie Zucca had much easier jobs (though appreciated) handing out treats on the subsequent Thursdays :-) Join us each Thursday evening at 7pm at Fairview Park for fun programming and sweet, frozen treats through August 4.

Teaching Your Children to do Chores Does More
Than Help Around the House!
Having your kids do chores can do more than just keep the house tidy and nice. According to multiple studies, kids who do chores have better relationships with their families and friends, perform better academically, and are more self-sufficient. Reference this article and chart, put together by SuperHealtyKids.com, to see what chores are good for kids at different ages.
