The NAIL-ing List: Neil Alexander's News & Happenings
Welcome to the December 2015 issue of The NAILing List.
And we have arrived....at the end of the year
It's been an absolutely amazing year. I won't go into details here, but as you can see by this photo,
there were things I could never have imagined.
New bands, new venues, new fans...and I'm thanking the stars as my crazy busy gig schedule continues. I'll be posting my usual "Year End Wrap Up" blog post soon, with a synopsis of 2015. Meanwhile, we continue. Here's what's up for December:
7:30 - 9:00 pm "Pay What You Can"
($5 suggested donation)
Space Create Presents is a new series of workshops and performances.
Each month I'll host "Adventures in Electronic Music",
with a special guest performer,
to talk about an aspect or style of electronic music production,
following up with a performance.
This month I'm proud to welcome REICH (DJ Dee Flash),
a House Music artist from Poughkeepsie, NY.
He'll be doing a brief hands on demo of the Roland AYRA system,
then Throwing down the JAMZ in an impromptu performance. Space Create is located at
115 Broadway, Newburgh, NY, next door to Two Alices Coffee Shop.
7 pm - You can Pay What You Want - even free (suggested $5 donation).
MR GONE returns to Doc Richmond's Jazz Series
at the world famous Turning Point Cafe.
We've had some very memorable shows here,
and continue the tradition with a slew of new material,
including a few choice originals.
Mr Gone is: Peter Furlan (saxes), Ratzo Harris (basses), Terry Silverlight (drums) and yours truly on the keys & synthesizers.
Bassist Robert Kopec & I have played together many times over the last 16 years, and I'm looking forward to continuing.
Byran Kopchack will be on drums.
Plus, the barbecue here is KILLER....if you like that kind of thing, :)
