Roy's Christmas Reflections

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34-35

Why is Christmas important to you?
Is the birth of Christ relevant to your life and story?

Christmas is relevant because it is the fulfillment of God’s promise that He would one day redeem those called according to His purpose.

When Karen and I were Houseparents at the Milton Hershey School many of the girls who came to our home knew nothing but broken promises and had a hard time trusting the words and actions of adults.

We made it our goal in that home, especially around the holidays; to share with these girls that God’s promises were worthy to be trusted through our actions.  We kept our word.

Our actions matched what we said even though it was imperfect and flawed.

The girls learned they could trust us because we were real and honest and we stood by them.

That is the takeaway from keeping your promises…and that is the reminder of the Christmas season.  Christ’s birth fulfilled a promise and each holiday reminds us the importance of keeping our promises to those we love and lead.

Thank you for sharing your lives and stories with us.  As you will see in our updates below we have much to be thankful for.

God continues to keep His promises with this ministry.  Our prayer is that we would be found faithful in preserving the unity of His Spirit here at MBC.

We love you all and pray for His richest blessings as you walk the path He has before you.  Please know you have an advocate and ally here at MBC.

Warmly,

End of Year Campaign Update
As of the writing of this email we have raised $12,535 - just over 50% of our goal of $25,000! You have surprised us with your richness in giving.

Thank you.

Thanks to many of you, we have been able to build an indoor mini-golf course in our red barn and buy a new canoe for our water front.

Because of your generosity towards our Camper Scholarship Fund we are able to offer camp to those who cannot afford it

We are very close to buying a new griddle for the kitchen as well as upgrade needed infrastructure at our campground as we will be opening up Memorial Day.

If you haven't had a chance to give yet, please help us reach our goals.

Thank you.

Roy

Director's Corner

In a world where everyone demands justice – who will extend mercy?

The one thing we as believers cannot forsake in a time of unrest, is our ability to extend mercy. It IS what differentiates us.
