KC STREETCAR TESTING

Both KC Streetcar vehicles continue testing and operator training this week during the day and evenings.

The public can expect the streetcars to be making daily trips on Main Street with Operator Vehicle Training also taking place at night and during the weekends.

To date, there are 14 individuals going through streetcar operator orientation and training. KC Streetcar maintenance staff has also been hired and currently being trained. The 3rd KC Streetcar vehicle, #803, is set to arrive into Kansas City soon.

KC STREETCAR CONSTRUCTION

All work is weather dependent:
This Week:

No parking on the west side Grand between 3rd - 5th Streets.
9th St & 19th St: Pour OCS & sidewalks. Install markers.
Between Truman Rd and the River Market area, brick restoration work.
7th-12th on Main: streetcar stop electrical work and streetlight tie-in work.
South of 11th Street on Main: WiFi installation for Smart City project. Work to include digging.
14th & Main: KCPL replacement work.
Job wide sidewalk pour backs, OCS poor backs, brick restoration, touch-up work continue.

Thursday:

1/28: Traffic Signal work at 7th & Main. New signals being installed starting at 7:00am. Intersection will be a 3-way stop.
1/28: Starting at 7:00am, 6th St ramp to Main closed. Detour to Walnut.

About the Downtown Kansas City Streetcar Starter Line
The two-mile, north-south Downtown KC Streetcar will travel along Main Street and connect the River Market to Crown Center and Union Station, serving the Central Business District, the Crossroads Art District, and the Power and Light District, as well as numerous businesses, restaurants, art galleries, educational facilities and residents.
