Successful ASIPI Seminar in Aruba


Counterfeiting was the main topic of ASIPI Seminar in Aruba, which was attended by distinguished panelists and a large number of attendees. In the coming days we will be sending a complete report of the Seminar, together with the presentations.

Meeting with Authorities of Aruba

President María del Pilar Troncoso, and the Secretary of ASIPI, Luis Henriquez, attended a meeting with the Governor of Aruba, Fredis Refunjol, and the Director of the Gabinet of the Governor of Aruba, Budhy Lall.  The meeting was very productive, where the Executive Committee of ASIPI thanked the hospitality of the Aruban people, and developed a brief exposition of the Association, its objectives, projects, and confirmed its availability for the government to coordinate workshops for judges and district attorneys.

New Venues for March 2017 and 2018 Seminars

 
During the meeting of the Administrative Council held in Aruba on March 13, attended by 18 delegations and 25 delegates, it was unanimously approved to change the venues of March 2017 and 2018 Seminars to Santiago, Chile and Bogota, Colombia, respectively. Soon we will send more details about these events.

Joint Statement of I.P. Associations against Plain Packaging 


ASIPI is leading a campaign to obtain a joint statement of I.P. Associations against plain packaging regulations.

This document would be used in those countries where attacks and proposals to legislate plain packaging are presented.

Up to now the following international and local Associations have signed the document:

Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI), Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI), International Trademark Association (INTA)

ASEAN Intellectual Property Association (ASEAN - IPA), Ligue Internationale du Droit de la Concurrence (LIDC), Uruguayan Association of Agents of Industrial Property (AUDAPI), Argentinian Association of Agents of Industrial Property (AAAPI), Dominican Association of Intellectual Property (ADOPI), Colombian Association of Intellectual Property (ACPI), Peruvian Association of Industrial Property and Copyright (APPI), Ecuadorian Association of Intellectual Property (AEPI) and the Bolivian Association of Industrial Property (ABPI)

We will continue spreading and promoting this document to achieve the greatest possible number of signatures.

ASIPI supports the Inventor Assistance Program ( IAP )

This WIPO initiative is based on recommending lawyers who work "pro bono" for the benefit of young inventors with low income and little knowledge of intellectual property. The aim of this project is to promote economic growth through I.P. Colombia is the pilot country of this initiative.

 ASIPI- DICOEX SEMINAR
 
ASIPI, together with the Department of Foreign Trade and Trade Agreements Administration (DICOEX) of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Dominican Republic, will be celebrating a Seminar titled “New labeling and packaging regulations: an imminent threat to trademark rights?” This event will be held on April 28th in the Hotel Embajador, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. We will send you more details on this event shortly.

ASIPI present at INTA Annual Meeting

Our traditional cocktail will be held on May 21 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Fountain Plaza, Hotel Hilton Orlando in Orlando, FL.  You will be receiving the invitation soon.

Also, we invite you to visit our Stand No. 1425 in the Commercial Exhibition, where we will be happy to provide you with more information about our events and address your concerns and comments.

XIX Work Sessions and Administrative Council of ASIPI in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Mark your calendars: we look forward to seeing you in Buenos Aires from December 4 to 7 for the XIX Work Sessions and Administrative Council of ASIPI. Registration will open at the end of May 2016.

We are working on the logistics and academic program of the event, which will feature a current and important agenda. You cannot miss this event!
