Week of March 16, 2015 | KC Downtown Streetcar Construction Update

Delaware Street is Back Open.
A reminder that the parking configuration on Delaware Street has changed. On-street parking is now on the east side of Delaware Street and is back-in angle parking, or reverse angle parking, between 3rd and 5th Streets.

CROSSROADS

Lane shifts on westside of Main between 16th-17th St (station work)
3/16-3/19: 19th St closed between Main - Baltimore (track)
3/18: 20th St closed one lane in each direction (track)
3/19-3/20: 20th St closed between Main - Baltimore (track)
Buses to use 18th St route during 20th St closure (track)
Traffic is now on the west side on the Main St Viaduct (track). Dedicated lane for Bus loading and unloading only on the east side.

CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT

Lane shifts/closures Truman Road north through 13th. (track and systems)
Lane closures at 12th and Main. (water)
10th closed between Main and Walnut, with local access for deliveries and garages only.(water)
10th between Baltimore - Main remains eastbound ONLY until all water work in the area is complete.

RIVER MARKET

3/18-3/25: 3rd St open eastbound only from Delaware - Walnut (track).
No on-street parking on 3rd, from Grand to Delaware. (water and track)
Delaware, 2nd-3rd Streets, southbound traffic only. No on-street parking. (water)
Continued sidewalk and curb restoration work on Delaware between 3rd and Independence. (track)

First station platform construction is underway with completion anticipated in early Spring 2015. Anticipated completion of all private (third-party) utility work is Spring 2015. KC Streetcar Constructors' track work continues in the River Market, Crossroads and Power and Light District into May 2015. Water/sewer work anticipated to be complete by late Spring 2015. Systems work, such as the overhead power system, will continue through Summer 2015.

About the Downtown Kansas City Streetcar Starter Line
The two-mile, north-south Downtown KC Streetcar will travel along Main Street and connect the River Market to Crown Center and Union Station, serving the Central Business District, the Crossroads Art District, and the Power and Light District, as well as numerous businesses, restaurants, art galleries, educational facilities and residents.
