Week of March 30, 2015 | KC Downtown Streetcar Construction Update

Streetcar station stop platform work is underway on the west side of 16th and Main Street. This is the first of the 16 streetcar station stops to be constructed.

CROSSROADS

Lane shifts on eastside of Main between 16th-17th St (station work)
3/26 - 4/3: Overhead Contact System Foundation work on west and east side of Main south of 19th St.
3/31- 4/1: Traffic shifts on Main St between Truman Rd - 20th St. (Roadway striping).
Traffic is now on the east side on the Main St Viaduct, south of 20th St. (track). Dedicated lane for Bus loading and unloading only on the east side.

CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT

3/30-4/17: Lane shifts/closures Truman Road north through 12th. (track)
3/31-4/1: 14th St closed between Main-Baltimore (track)
Lane closures at 12th and Main. (water)
3/31-4/1: Night work at 10th & Main (water)
10th between Baltimore - Main remains eastbound ONLY until all water work in the area is complete.
9th-10th traffic pushed to curbside.
7th-8th Northbound east side lane drop.
10th-Petticoat, traffic pushed to curbside.

RIVER MARKET

4/1 - 4/10: 4th closed at Grand .(curb & drive restoration)
3/30-4/10: 3rd St open eastbound only from Delaware - Walnut .(track)
4/1: Main closed 2nd-3rd (track). Local traffic only.
4/1-4/6: Periodic side street and driveways closed. (track)
4/1: No on street parking on 5th (roadway striping)
No on-street parking on 3rd, from Grand to Delaware. (water and track)
Delaware, 2nd-3rd Streets, southbound traffic only. No on-street parking. (water)
Continued sidewalk and curb restoration work on Delaware between 3rd and Independence. (track)

First station platform construction is underway with completion anticipated in early Spring 2015. Anticipated completion of all private (third-party) utility work is Spring 2015. KC Streetcar Constructors' track work continues in the River Market, Crossroads and Power and Light District into May 2015. Water/sewer work anticipated to be complete by late Spring 2015. Systems work, such as the overhead power system, will continue through Summer 2015.

About the Downtown Kansas City Streetcar Starter Line
The two-mile, north-south Downtown KC Streetcar will travel along Main Street and connect the River Market to Crown Center and Union Station, serving the Central Business District, the Crossroads Art District, and the Power and Light District, as well as numerous businesses, restaurants, art galleries, educational facilities and residents.
