"At Casa do Povo, remembering is a daily task that triggers the imagination to design other possible futures." |
Thousands of Holocaust survivors pass away each year. Too often their personal details – their stories – go with them. January 27, 2016 was International Holocaust Remembrance Day. In honor of this day, we asked our member Casa do Povo in São Paulo, Brazil – a center devoted to those who died in the concentration camps – to speak about their history, the remarkable relationship between place and the imagination, and how remembering means acting. |

Preserving the histories of people who died poor and forgotten. Honoring the roughly 120,000 Japanese Americans unjustly incarcerated during World War II. Using the history of the slave trade to shape the future in Guadeloupe. And that's just a sampling of the extraordinary work our new members are doing.
The Coalition is proud to have recently welcomed new sites from Belarus to California. |
